This photo is one of the most special from that session in 𝐋𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐨, at the end of 2020. It is because taking it made us scream, laugh, and on our toes running after this peculiar insect. I thought it was a normal grasshopper, but I have an environmentalist brother (@rodamefo) who informed me otherwise. I already know that I am not your standard girl, jumping around catching insects (and at this age…*gasp*) But it has always been something normal for me and my brothers. Since we were children we have had a great curiosity for flora and fauna, and seeing plants and animals up close is something I am used to and enjoy. Going back to the story, we had already taken the photos of the jewelry pieces with the live millipede at this point, so seeing another insect only contributed to the new and improvised photographic theme. When I saw the brightly green ‘Hope’ perched on a bush, I jumped in to catch it quickly with my hands, but being careful not to hurt it. Obviously her immediate reaction was to escape, she was feeling captive and in danger. I started yelling for help to put the rings on, because if I let go of it, we would lose the opportunity. Imagine @vickydelic trying to take photos in the midst of everyone’s general excitement and laughter, Natalia trying to put the rings on my fingers, me trying to place my hand in a position that was graceful enough for the shot without letting our poor friend escape. I had the insect in my hand for less than a minute, and it suddenly decided to poop while I was trying to hold it still. Said poop had to be photoshopped out of our fancy shot. In fact there is a very funny video of me screaming in surprise and disgust. I think I’m the only person that Hope has shit on. Do you think it was a bad omen? Let me know in the comments.

Esta foto es de las más especiales de aquella sesión en 𝐋𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐨, a finales del 2020. Lo es porque nos sacó gritos, carcajadas y nos hizo salir corriendo detrás de este peculiar insecto. Yo pensaba que era una especie de saltamontes, pero tengo un hermano ambientalista (@rodamefo) que me informó de lo contrario. Se trata de un insecto de la orden de los saltamontes llamado ‘Esperanza’, y justamente dicen que son buenos augurios y representan suerte. Ya sé que no soy una niña normal, atrapar insectos siempre ha sido algo acostumbrado para mí y mis hermano. Desde niños hemos tenido una curiosidad grande por la flora y fauna, y ver las plantas y animales de cerca es algo a lo que estoy acostumbrada. Volviendo a la historia, ya habíamos en este punto tomado las fotos de las piezas de joyería con el milpiés, así que ver otro insecto solamente contribuía al nuevo e improvisado tema fotográfico. Cuando vi la Esperanza brillantemente verde posada en un arbusto, me lancé a atraparla rápidamente con mis manos, pero cuidando no lastimarla. Obviamente su reacción inmediata fue de escapar ante sentirse cautiva y en peligro. Empecé a gritar para que me ayudaran a ponerme los anillos, porque si la soltaba, perderíamos la oportunidad. Imagínense a @vickydelic tratando de tomar fotos en medio de la excitación general de todas y las risas, Natalia tratando de colocarme las argollas, yo intentando poner mi mano en una posición lo suficientemente grácil para la toma. La tuve en mi mano menos de un minuto, y decidió hacer popó mientras la sostenía. De hecho tuvimos que borrar su regalito de la imagen final. Hay un video muy gracioso de mí gritando de la sorpresa y disgusto justo en este momento. Creo que soy la única persona a la cual la Esperanza le ha cagado en la mano. ¿Creen que sea un mal augurio?
